From early childhood through adulthood, Community Clubhouse helps people improve their skills in reading, math and communication.  We offer free tutoring, partner with local schools on creative learning methods and programs, and connect people with community learning and educational opportunities.

Tutoring Services run throughout the year.  We are currently registering students for the Fall 2015 Tutoring Term.

Tutoring sessions are 45-minutes in length and take place Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday at 5pm and 6pm.

What makes the Community Clubhouse Tutoring Program different?

In addition to being a free program, the tutoring program operates on a 1:1 student to one tutor for 45-minutes per week.  More importantly, the Community Clubhouse Tutoring Program is not just about the children.  It is also about the parents/guardians.  

Our objective is to not only empower the students, but to also empower and equip the parents/guardians.  At the beginning of each tutoring term, a Parent/Guardian Orientation is conducted.  At that time, program objectives are discussed, homework tips are given and teacher communication forms are distributed.  These forms are passed onto the student's school teacher to not only inform the teacher that the student is receiving additional assistance, but also to allow the teacher to pass on areas of need to the tutor.  The parents/guardians are encouraged to effectively communicate with their student's teacher on a regular basis.  When all involved in a child's learning environment are working together, greater success will be observed.  

Tutors meet with the student's parent/guardian following each tutoring session.  During this time, methods and techniques utilized in the tutoring session are passed onto the parent/guardian.  This allows the parent/guardian to know what is working in the session and further allows the parent/guardian to incorporate such at home.
